Mopria Alliance celebrates milestone

The Mopria Alliance, a global non-profit membership organisation providing universal standards and solutions for mobile print and scan, is celebrating 2 billion installs of Mopria technology and more than 4,000 Mopria certified printer models to make printing easier wherever you are.
There are now 2 billion installations of Mopria technology around the world, including the Mopria Print Service app for Android devices, the Default Print Service offered in Android 8, 9 and 10, the Samsung Print Service for Samsung Galaxy phones and the Windows IPP Print Solution on Windows 10 devices.
“We are ecstatic at the continued growth of Mopria and that our technology is now providing an optimum printing experience for more people in more places with 2 billion installations,” said Ingrid Kelly, Chairman of the Steering Committee at the Mopria Alliance. “The growth that we are experiencing each year with Mopria is a testament to the continued need for printing in the modern age. We look forward to continuing our mission of providing users with solutions that allows them to print or scan wherever they are.”
Mopria technology provides users with the flexibility of streamlined printing, with automatic printer discovery to more than 4,000 printer models and 120 million Mopria certified printers accessible from any device running Android or Windows 10.
Connected through any wireless network or with Wi-Fi direct, users can easily print web pages, documents, or pictures to any Mopria certified printer.
“The Mopria Alliance always sought to give our users an easy way to print using their Android smartphones and tablets,” continued Kelly. “We’re thrilled that Android and Microsoft share our vision and we will continue to add features that provide users with a seamless printing experience.”
The Mopria Print Service is available for download from Google Play. For additional functionality, users can download Mopria Scan to scan directly to their mobile devices, share their scanned data and organise their digital scan files.
