Mito products passed CBP inspection
April 4, 2022
Mito Color Imaging, Co., Ltd. announced that its 4th generation patented products MTBR-221 and MTBR-227, for use in Brother printers, have been successfully put on record by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as IP safe products.
This means Mito can provide IP safe solutions for US and even global customers for this series of cartridges. Mito’s 4th generation MTBR-221BK/C/M/Y and MTBT-227BK/C/M/Y are the replacements of Brother TN221 BK/C/M/Y and TN227 BK/C/M/Y series colour toner cartridges. Mito’s solutions have a work around for Borther’s US patent No. US9785093?US9575460 and US9846387.
In November 2020, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) issued a final ruling on the 337 investigation from Brother and issued a General Exclusion Order and twenty suspension orders (No. 337-ta-1174). The issuance of the General Exclusion Order means that products suspected of infringement will be rejected by U.S. Customs no matter where the imported products come from.
The company explained that in line with its moto of “facing problems and solving problems”, Mito’s IP team devoted itself to patent design and structural adjustment. The patent design of the company’s cartridges submitted to the U.S. CBP in 2021 successfully passed the non-infringement judgment of the authorities and successfully passed the customs filing on 29 March 2022.
Mito added: “The fourth generation patented solution products will be manufactured by automatic production line, and its core parts, like Ding Long chemical toner, chip, design around and eco-friendly plastic shell, DR, etc are from Dinglong group, we control the quality of parts from the raw material, so that Mito can offer stable and outstanding printing performance for clients.”
