Milestone celebrations for The Recycler’s Amy
September 4, 2018
Amy Van De Casteele, Editorial Assistant at The Recycler, is celebrating a successful first year with the magazine, which she described as “a real journey of discovery.”
Having joined the company in September 2017, half-Belgian, half-British Van De Casteele is popping the corks on a wildly successful 365 days’ service.
“It has been an amazing first year at The Recycler,” she declared. “I can’t believe how the time has flown by. I started this job knowing almost nothing – okay, nothing at all – about the remanufacturing industry, so the last year has been a real journey of discovery.”
Having come to the role following six years’ worth of experience as a freelance copywriter in the travel industry, working for the likes of HotelTravel, Honeymoon Dreams and Pure Destinations, it wasn’t long before Van De Casteele had her feet firmly under the table.
“I was working as a freelance content writer in the travel business before this, so it took a little while to learn the ropes but hopefully I have acquitted myself well – though I still get a little confused about whether it’s CYMK cartridges or CMYK (just kidding, Editor…)”
Reflecting on the highlights of the last year, she admitted that “the best thing about joining this magazine has, without doubt, been the working relationships I have forged with my colleagues; their support and good humour over the past year has been outstanding and I am so grateful.”
“It’s been great having Amy as part of the team,” The Recycler’s Managing Editor, Stefanie Unland, said. “She has a fresh style of writing that’s engaging, and she has brought a refreshing wind to the news. I am looking forward to working with Amy on many new and exciting projects to further develop her skills, and I hope she continues to enjoy her writing!”
