Miles Caldwell: A pioneer in inkjet remanufacturing
October 24, 2024
Miles Caldwell, a pioneer and visionary, leaves a lasting legacy in inkjet remanufacturing.
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Miles Caudwell, a visionary whose deep knowledge and engaging personality made him a go-to figure in the industry when many were just starting out in a new and exciting sector.
Established in 1984 as a paper stationery manufacturer, Miles joined the company in 1991 and quickly recognised the burgeoning potential of inkjet technology and adeptly shifted the company’s focus, guiding Alphastream to become a trailblazer in the inkjet remanufacturing industry.
Though Alphastream ceased operations nearly fifteen years ago, Miles continued influencing the tech and recycling sectors. His later career saw him excel in various roles, including Commercial Development Manager at CES Europe Ltd and Clover Wireless. Most recently, he served as Business Development Director at Reconext, where he contributed to their mission as a global provider of private label trade-in, buy-back, repair, and reclamation services, offering vertically integrated solutions for carriers, retailers, and OEMs.
Miles, who left us earlier this week, was a visionary whose deep knowledge and engaging personality made him a go to figure in the industry. He was not just a pioneer but also an inspiration to many, propelling forward a market that was just beginning to understand the value of inkjet printing and its reuse opportunities.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this mournful time. Miles’s legacy is embedded in the innovative strides he made in the inkjet sector, laying down a foundation that many continue to build upon today. He will be remembered as a leader whose work had a profound impact on the industry, steering it towards a sustainable future.
