Meyers begins reforestation projects
November 10, 2023
Meyers, a sustainable packaging company, has partnered with PrintReleaf, the sustainability programme offering a platform that facilitates offsetting forest impact by certifiably reforesting in the equivalence to paper and fibre-based materials consumption.
By partnering with PrintReleaf, Meyers demonstrates a tangible commitment to reforestation. Furthermore, this partnership offers a valuable channel for Meyers to empower its customers with a direct means to support reforestation initiatives, themselves, in certified forests.
“We’ve been committed to responsible sourcing for a long time, through programs like the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI),” said Michael Dillon, Chief Revenue Officer, Meyers. “Our partnership with PrintReleaf builds on top of that. Our clients now have an easy path to replace every bit of paper product harvested from a farmed forest with native trees planted in world-class reforestation projects.”
With many people looking to work for companies that prioritise environmental responsibility and ethical practices, Meyers’ commitment to sustainable solutions boosts engagement and morale. “Our mission is to create a better future for people, products, and our planet,” said Chris Dillon, Chief Executive Officer, Meyers. “Our reforestation efforts are contributing to all three of those areas. A future where packaged products directly lead to new forests is better for all people, who deserve access to nature, and for our planet, which needs this critical habitat.”
Meyers practices sustainability in several ways, and this partnership with PrintReleaf furthers those efforts. The company is dedicated to sourcing materials from responsibly managed forests. Through their partnership with PrintReleaf, which collaborates with SGS International to audit and certify reforestation partners and projects for 100% net tree survival, Meyers can assure clients that every tree will be planted in designated restoration and conservation forests, ensuring long-term benefits for future generations.
PrintReleaf and its partners, with their customers, are already responsible for reforesting over 5.7 million standard trees, globally, which has offset more than 230,000 tons of paper materials. The partnership with PrintReleaf represents another layer of environmental and social responsibility integrated into Meyers’ manufacturing and operations. Complementing the company’s ongoing and future sustainability initiatives.
