Meet the Amazon Dash Shelf

Dec 9, 2019 | 0 comments

Amazon recently announced the discontinuation of the Amazon Dash button, but now the latest product emerges from the online retailer, new Amazon Dash shelves.

Similar to its Dash button service, as supplies run low, the Amazon Dash Smart Shelf can reorder automatically to refill stocks. As Tech Crunch reports, the shelves have built-in scales to measure the level of supplies.

Tech Crunch explains that the shelves will be available in three sizes, 7?x7?, 12?x10? and 18?x13?, and just get placed underneath of “whatever stock of supplies you commonly run through while operating a business” like printer paper, cups, pens, envelopes etc.

Amazon replenishment can be set up to automatically to re-order as the weight gets low or it can be set up to send relevant staff a reminder that supplies are getting low.

The Amazon Dash Smart shelves connect via Wi-Fi and can be powered by cable or AAA batteries. Users connect via the web or mobile app via their Amazon Business account.

Tech Crunch writes that the shelves are not immediately widely available for purchase, instead, Amazon is working with a selected group of its Business Account customers in the US to start piloting the service.
