Marco donates to 15 education foundations

December 21, 2018

Marco has been approved for the sixth consecutive year by the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program of Pennsylvania to apply corporate donations to educational foundations throughout the state.

As a result, Marco donated $60,000 (€52,516) to 15 educational foundations.

“Partnering with the EITC is a great opportunity for our company to give back to the communities that we live and work in,” said Matt Floyd, Director of Sales in Pennsylvania. “Being able to use the EITC program to invest in various educational programs that help improve the overall educational experience for so many kids across Central Pennsylvania is as good as it gets.”

Companies must apply to participate in the EITC program. Once approved, each organisation is allotted a specific amount of funds that can be donated to the state’s educational foundations. Approved donors then choose the foundations that receive funding.

Marco divided the $60,000 (€52,516) among the education foundations supporting the following schools districts and college: Harrisburg School District; Lebanon School District; Cumberland Valley School District; Central Dauphin School District; Donegal School District; Boyertown School District; Elizabethtown Area School District; Elizabethtown College; Manheim Township School District; Eastern Lancaster County School District; Columbia School District; West Shore School District; Governor Mifflin School District; Hamburg School District; Wilson School District.

Recipients will use the funds for various art and science initiatives, such as hiring an author-in-residence, creating a mosaic at a local park and furthering projects related to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

Marco has been investing in local communities since 1973 and regularly organizes community involvement events through its comprehensive Gold Standard culture program. In addition to financial support, the company encourages its employees to volunteer for the causes they care about on company time.

“Marco has a long history of giving back to our communities,” said Marco CEO Jeff Gau. “We believe it is not enough to do well as a company. We also need to do good. Phillips Office Solutions shares this passion, and it’s reflected in this important investment toward quality education.”
