A new pigment allows 3D printed plastic to gain a metallic gloss effect.
K Zeitung reported on the “exclusive cooperation between Schlenk, Herz and Gabriel-Chemie” which has made it possible to produce 3D-printed plastic parts with intensive metallic gloss.
Pigment specialist Schlenk Metallic Pigments GmbH and filament specialist Herz GmbH and masterbatch producer Gabriel-Chemie GmbH have come together to produce an “amazingly realistic metallic look” which can be reproduced through a new 3D filament this new corporation has produced.
K Zeitung writes: “The additive manufactured end product captivates by an enormous depth shine and exceptionally real looking metal optics.”
The new PETG Metallic series currently consists of five colours called Ocean Blue Metallic Gloss, Calm Red Metallic Gloss, Gunmetal Black Metallic Gloss, Brown Metallic Gloss and Fir Tree Metallic Gloss.
According to K Zeitung, further colours are in preparation or are available on request.
Lukas Houska, Product Manager at Gabriel-Chemie GmbH, said to K Zeitung: “The combination of PETG with the ultrafine metallic effect never before seen in 3D printing, which can also be coloured individually, inspires many customers, both The exclusive cooperation between the partners Schlenk, Herz and us guarantees absolute uniqueness in the field of 3D printed filaments. ”
