Lexmark opens up Virtual Solution Centre

Jul 26, 2018 | 0 comments

The OEM’s platform was originally only open to its channel partners, but has now broadened its customer base.

The Lexmark Virtual Solution Centre (VSC) was introduced in 2008, to allow its partners to use Lexmark solutions, update firmware, and configure the touchscreens of compatible Lexmark hardware.

Now, the OEM has launched a public version of the VSC, meaning that even if you’ve bought your Lexmark printer from a third-party retailer, you can still download the apps and enjoy the benefits of the VSC.

“Open channel users are an important audience for Lexmark,” explained Jason Wolf, the company’s Solution Marketing Manager. “Opening the VSC to a broader audience allows these customers to benefit from the solutions capabilities of their MFP or printer.”

Customers are able to access the public VSC deployment page from Lexmark’s website. The service is free and enables them to download firmware updates and free apps such as Card Copy, Eco Copy and Google Drive.

The VSC allows users to save “forms and favourites”, enabling them to save paper by only printing the frequently-used forms you actually need, as well as allowing them to print or scan straight into Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox, using the Cloud Connector.
