Lexmark introduces version 4.0 of MarkVision Enterprise software

December 3, 2020

Lexmark announced a major upgrade to its MarkVision Enterprise (MVE) device management solution.

MVE 4.0 is now available to customers free of charge and enables the central management of printers. Users can remotely create configurations that are compatible with different models that are scalable to thousands of networked printing and multifunction devices.

“Corporate customers are increasingly looking for ways to increase their security level and at the same time to relieve their IT staff. We have upgraded MarkVision Enterprise’s fleet management capabilities to meet these needs,” said Brock Saladin, Lexmark Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “MVE 4.0 offers improvements in usability and security. The software also makes it easier to manage the entire fleet of network printers and multifunction devices. The advanced and intuitive toolset makes it easier than ever to configure device settings and update security policies in a single tool.”

MVE 4.0 is a key component of Lexmark’s “Secure by Design” approach to increasing security and privacy. The solution was developed to ensure optimal protection for every end device in a network. A new function for a uniform configuration enables users to set up configurations centrally and play them on all Lexmark printers, including legacy models. In this way, the effort for the initial configuration and maintenance tasks can be reduced considerably. For example, you can create a basic security configuration and immediately upload it to every new device that is integrated into the network – without having to repeat the command manually.

MVE 4.0 automates everyday IT routine tasks such as updating firmware, configuring device settings or exporting security certificates. For companies that value greater transparency, especially with regard to responsibility, MVE 4.0 offers the option of requesting specific statistics on individual devices. Activities can thus be clearly assigned.

“We’re excited to be able to offer Lexmark customers MVE 4.0 immediately,” continued Saladin. “This user-friendly fleet management solution offers improved security compliance for the entire company and at the same time reduces the workload of IT staff.”
