Kyocera unveils 3 new series of products

June 25, 2018

KYOCERA Document Solutions America, Inc. has introduced three new series of MFPs and printers developed for document-intensive small-to-medium sized businesses.

These new series have been designed especially those for whom environmental efficiency is also a significant concern. As Kyocera describes, the devices offer “brilliant resolution, fast printing speeds, and expandable paper capacities – all in a compact footprint”, and these energy-efficient MFPs and printers can be custom-fit to serve the needs of companies in a wide variety of industries.

The new product ranges that have been launched consist of the ECOSYS M6635cidn Series (comprising the ECOSYS M6635cidn, ECOSYS M6235cidn and ECOSYS M6630cidn), the ECOSYS P7240cdn Series (comprising the ECOSYS P7240cdn, ECOSYS P6235cdn, and ECOSYS P6230cdn) and the ECOSYS M3645idn Series (comprising the ECOSYS M3645idn and ECOSYS M3145idn).

Each of these new models is in full compliance with the new, enhanced standards of ENERGY STAR 3.0.

“We wanted to offer customers devices that meet both the needs of their business and the needs of the environment,” said Douglas Cole, Director, Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing Division for KYOCERA Document Solutions America.

These ECOSYS MFPs and printers reduce both costs and environmental impact through the use of long-life consumables, and their ability to shift to sleep mode automatically.

According to Cole, “Low-power sleep mode is an extremely effective way to reduce consumption, especially because many devices are left on indefinitely.”

All three series support KYOCERA Fleet Services (KFS), a comprehensive remote monitoring system that offers a window into almost every aspect of customers’ devices, from toner levels to detailed analytics reports. Dealers can perform many services without going on-site: firmware updates, error-code resets, real-time diagnostics, and more.

Combined with Kyocera’s one print driver approach to fleet administration, KFS reduces the amount of time IT departments spend on MFP and printer issues, allowing them to focus their attention almost exclusively on IT issues.

Featuring print, copy, scan, and fax (ECOSYS M6235cidn, a non fax model), the ECOSYS M6635cidn Series of colour MFPs can meet the demands of even the busiest small-to-mid-sized offices, according to Kyocera. All three models feature true 1200 x 1200 dpi (at reduced speed), a 7” colour touch-screen, optional Wireless and Wi-Fi Direct capabilities. The series is HyPAS-enabled, ready to run select Kyocera Business Applications, as well as Mobile Print/Scan capability via KYOCERA Mobile Print, Google Cloud Print, and Mopria.

What makes the ECOSYS M6635cidn and ECOSYS M6235cidn especially useful for document-heavy environments is its 100-sheet Dual Scan Document Processor (DSDP), which allows double-sided documents to be scanned in a single pass, significantly reducing time spent on large projects.

These ECOSYS P7240cdn colour printers are ideal for offices with high-quality output with high-volume demands. All three deliver true 1200 x 1200 dpi (at reduced speed). The ECOSYS P7240cdn has an a-Si long-life drum that can produce up to 300,000 images, while the ECOSYS P6235cdn and ECOSYS P6230cdn can produce up to 200,000 images. Users with high-volume print needs can also opt for additional paper storage, topping out at an impressive 2,100 sheets.

At 47-ppm, the ECOSYS M3645idn Series of black and white MFPs deliver print, copy, colour scan, and fax functionality (ECOSYS M3145idn, a non fax model), as well as the ability to run select HyPAS business applications. The a-Si long-life drum delivers reliability, and the paper capacity of 2,600 sheets delivers in a big way on productivity, maximizing uptime when running long jobs.

“These black and white MFPs pack a punch – the 1200 x 1200 dpi images are extremely crisp…  and don’t compromise the 47-page-per-minute pace,” says Chuck Clarke, Product Marketing Manager. “That’s saying something when you’re printing, copying, scanning, and even faxing on the same device throughout the day.”
