Kyocera releases 2017 financials
February 2, 2018
Kyocera Corporation has announced its consolidated third-quarter financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018.
Kyocera revealed that during this nine-month period, “robust demand for information and telecommunications equipment, automobiles, and industrial machinery fuelled a significant increase in the company’s revenue from electronic devices and automotive/industrial components.”
Revenue in the document solutions business increased as well, following new product launches and related sales promotions. Additionally, merger and acquisitions made a further contribution to the company’s business expansion.
As a result, the company attained record nine-month sales of ¥1.14 trillion ($10.4 billion/€8.3 billion), an increase of 12.9 percent over the same period of the prior year.
Profit from operations increased 62.4 percent, to ¥144.8 billion ($1.3 billion/€1.055 billion).
For Q3 2017, the OEM achieved net sales of ¥406.6 billion ($3.7 billion/€2.96 billion), an increase of 12.5 percent from the same period last year, and recorded a profit from operations of ¥39.479 billion ($359.3 million/€287.6 million). This represents a change of 18.5 percent from Q3 2016.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018, Kyocera makes no change to the forecasts for net sales, profit from operations, or income before income taxes that it announced on October 30, 2017, since its business results are generally in line with those projections.
