The company’s cryptographic technology embedded in its A4 multifunction products and printers obtained certification under the international security standard “FIPS 140-3”.
Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. (Kyocera) announced that the integrated circuit (IC) developed by Kyocera primarily for use in A4 multifunction products and printers has obtained certification under the information security standard “FIPS*1 140-3,” established by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
FIPS 140-3 specifies advanced information security requirements for the design and implementation of cryptographic modules and is widely adopted as a standard in groups requiring extremely high levels of information protection, such as government agencies, financial institutions, and medical organisations.
In response to the growing importance of information security, Kyocera said it has been committed to strengthening its cryptographic technologies to provide products that customers can use with confidence.
With this certification, Kyocera added that it demonstrates that its cryptographic technology meets the rigorous, internationally recognised information security standards necessary to appropriately protect highly confidential information.
The company concluded: “Kyocera will continue to actively incorporate the latest security technologies and contribute to creating a safe and secure office environment for its customers.”
