Konica Minolta resumes toner production

After the two fires in August, Konica Minolta has announced its plan to restart production in both its Kofu Factory and its Tatsuno Factory.
Regarding the accident that occurred at Tatsuno Factory of Konica Minolta Supplies Manufacturing Co., Ltd. on 12 August Konica Minolta gave the following announcement about restarting production at the factories.
After suspending its operation at the Kofu Factory since the accident at Tatsuno Factory, the factory resumed toner production on 18 October. Before restarting production, Koncia Minolta confirmed that the factory completed its risk assessments on the safety measures by experts without problem.
Tatsuno Factory is on its way to resume production on 18 November, as planned. On 16 and 17 October, briefing sessions were held for residents in the neighbouring communities at Tatsuno. Konica Minolta said it explained what happened in the accident, the causes, countermeasures to gain their understanding.
The company said: “The Konica Minolta Group takes the accidents seriously and will continue to strive to ensure the safety of the community. At the same time, we would like to express our sincere apologies for the accidents, which caused concerns and inconvenience to our customers due to a shortage in the supply of toners.
“We also ask for understanding and support as we work to resume production in the future.”
