Konica Minolta names inkjet unit President
April 9, 2019
Konica Minolta Inc. has appointed Hiroyasu Endo President of its Inkjet Printhead Business Unit.
As Industrial Inkjet reveals, Mr. Endo’s appointment is effective from 1 April 2019; he is taking over from Mr. Katsuaki Komatsu, who took on a new role as advisor from the same date.
Mr. Endo first took up his position at Konica Minolta following his graduation from university in 1984. In 2007 he joined the Inkjet Business Unit, taking the helm as leader in Sales and Business Development, and oversaw the growth of the unit from a small division to a large one with over 200 staff.
In addition, Mr. Endo oversaw the asset purchase of the inkjet business of Panasonic Precision Device Ltd.
He is described as being “widely known and respected” by the company’s OEM customers and his new appointment is said to come at “an exciting time” as Konica Minolta “are launching a number of new printhead products over the next 12 months”.
Industrial Inkjet’s MD, John Corrall, commented on Endo’s premiership: “We welcome the transition of the presidency from Komatsu san to Endo San. We have worked with both for many years not only as colleagues but also as friends. We wish Komatsu san well in his new role, and congratulate Endo san on his well deserved promotion.”
