Konica Minolta “earnings steadily recovered”

The company announced its latest consolidated financial results, reporting that production volumes recovered, and the order backlog began to decrease.
For the second quarter of FY2022 Konica Minolta reported revenue of ¥282.9 billion ($38.86 billion/ €39.24 billion), a year-on-year increase of 31%. Revenue for the first half of FY2022 was up 19%, at ¥530.7 billion ($72.89 billion/ €73.61 billion).
For the Digital Workplace segment, Konica Minolta said that production volume recovered, and improvements were made in shortening prolonged logistics transportation periods. Progress was made in processing the order backlog, which had built up until Q1 of FY2022, and revenue and profit increased in the business segment.
For the reporting period of the second quarter of FY2022, the Digital Workplace segment recorded revenue of ¥149.6 billion ($20.55 billion/ €20.75 billion), a year-on-year increase of 43%. For the first half year period, revenue in the segment was ¥278.5 billion ($38.25 billion/ €38.62 billion), an increase of 23% year-on-year. Sales volume of hardware recovered due to Konica Minolta’s efforts to secure components and increase production volume. Sales increased significantly as the order backlog began to be reduced.
Due to new exchange rate assumptions, Konica Minolta revised its full year forecasts upwards to ¥1,120 billion ($154 billion/ €155 billion).
