Testing and research company Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab has revealed a new alliance with cybersecurity consultancy Context Information Security.

The pair have come together for the launch of a new security testing benchmark, aimed at advanced MFPs and printers.

Keypoint Intelligence’s Group Director of Office Document Technology, Randy Dazo, said the company was “excited about working with Context on our new security verification programme. Combining our expertise in market research, along with Context’s technical consultancy and cyber advisory services, our programme will mimic real-world threats and will examine the various potential security shortcomings of networked/Internet-connected output devices.”

“We are delighted to be collaborating closely with Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab on this inaugural testing initiative,” added Mark Raeburn, CEO of Context Information Security. “Some of the world’s most successful organisations turn to us for advice, technical assurance, incident response and investigation services, so we see a natural fit to engage in a programme that will provide security standards that the printer and MFP industry should strive to follow.”

Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab and Context plan to begin testing during Q4 of 2018, and will be announcing devices that pass as they become available.
