KAO announces new five year plan

The toner and resins producer, Kao is launching their next five year plan for the fiscal 2021 to 2025 period focused on an enriched sustainable world.
The Kao Group, producers of toner and resins, new five year plan focuses on an enriched and sustainable world. The five-year period from fiscal 2021 to 2025.
Founded in Japan in 1887, the Kao Group is better known for their leading brands such as Attack, Bioré, Goldwell, Jergens, John Frieda, Kanebo, Laurier, Merries and Molton Brown. In the imaging sector their chemical division, which contributes to a wide range of industries, produces low fusing temperature toner and resins.
The five year plan will sees KAO create a new business with a focus in the new area of “Save lives, protect people”. This will involve starting “Another Kao” business that contributes to solving people’s urgent problems by making the most of our core technology that we have not to date been able to use fully.
The five year vision is that “Sustainability as the only path” and will follow the Japanese Kirei concept of “Making Life Beautiful” and for the company to become “an essential company in a sustainable world and take leadership in a self-propelling sustainable society.”
Key areas will see investment in carbon recycling, the conversion of carbon dioxide into raw materials and positive recycling, the creation of new business through re-use. Another new area of development is eradicating the source of infectious diseases.
The Kao Group generates about 1,500 billion yen (€11.8 billion / $14.42 billion) in annual sales and is headquartered Japan, and has facilities in Brazil, Germany, Mexico and Spain.
