IT services provider sets €100m target

The Dublin IT services provider, Ergo, has set a targeted turnover of €100 million by 2020, after achieving a record revenue hike in 2017.
Ergo was founded in 1993 by a former winner of the EY Industry Entrepreneur of the Year Award, John Purdy, in collaboration with Tim Sheehy, starting off as a two-man business selling toner cartridges.
Over the ensuing years, as the Irish Times reports, the company underwent burgeoning growth, gaining a 250-strong workforce and expanding to offer a range of IT solutions, including software, infrastructure and both cloud and managed services.
Last year Ergo achieved a record revenue hike of €30 million, prompting the business to set a milestone target of €100 million in revenue by 2020.
“We’ve seen considerable revenue growth in the last few years and expect it to increase again in 2018 and are currently finalising a plan to see turnover climb to about €100 million by 2020,” said Mr Purdy, Ergo’s Chief Executive.
“We have invested significantly in our managed services business and there have been some significant customer wins of late. Managed services has grown from a €10 million business in 2014 to a €20 million-odd business in 2017,” he continued.
Purdy went on to say that “2018 would be more of the same for the company”, and described “the addition of a suitable acquisition target” as being “always a focus for management.”
