IR Italiana Riprografia acquires gebos

The Italian company has taken over Bensheim-based gebos GmbH, following a long period of cooperation.
The capital-based alliance comes after many years of “intensive and confident cooperation” between the two companies, and is effective as of July.
gebos has been serving retailers with both original and compatible consumable products for more than a quarter of a century, with a particular focus in Germany and France.
According to IR Italiana Riprografia, “gebos represents an ideal bridgehead in the German market, especially since gebos is regarded as a powerful and reliable partner of the specialised trade.”
It added that as a result of the takeover, “gebos customers will be able to benefit from a much broader range of products and availability. This applies in particular to the supply of high-quality compatible products, which are produced by IR on their own and partly marketed under the brand name Graphicjet.”
The IR group already boasts an active branch office in the German market, IR Deutschland GmbH. In the short term, the two companies will continue to work independently with their own customers, with Gerhard Bayer remaining the Managing Director of gebos. In the future, the two will be merged into one unique company, with the aim of providing to the customers “a more efficient and profitable business proposal.”
