Inkjet and A4 colour to grow by 2023

Keypoint Intelligence expect growth in inkjet and A4 colour laser shipments in North America and Western Europe by 2023.
In a recent info blog post by Barbara Richards of Keypoint Intelligence, the North American market shows in Keypoint Intelligence/Infotrends forecast a potential growth from 55 percent in 2018 to 60 percent for multifunction (MF) devices. Single function (SF) devices are predicted to be declining from 45 percent in 2018 to 40 percent by 2023.
In the Western European market Keypoint Intelligence predicts that multifunction device shipments will grow from 56 percent to 58 percent.
Richards writes: “While the overall office equipment markets in NA and WE are mature, Keypoint Intelligence/InfoTrends expect continued growth in A4 Colour Laser and Business Inkjet Segment 3 & 4 according to recently published SF Printer and MFP Hardware Forecasts for both regions. In addition, the shift from SF printers to multifunctional devices will continue.“
Looking at the office environment Richards explains that colour laser are predicted ot overtake monochrome laser unit. “The biggest opportunity for growth is within the office colour laser A4 segments (3-4) for both regions. In North America A4 Colour MF devices are forecasted to grow at a 6.8% CAGR through 2023,” Richards writes.
Keypoint Intelligence/InfoTrends expects the business inkjet to grow 6 percent in North America and 2.3 percent in Western Europe.
Richards concludes: “While the North America & Western Europe Laser market is a mature market there are pockets of growth opportunity as colour, MF and A4 devices continue to replace traditional A3 type engines in the office. Additionally, the shift to A4 printer-based MFPs will continue as these products move upstream and disrupt traditional A3 markets. Furthermore, Business Ink, particularly high-end serial and page-wide will continue to play an even greater role in the SMB market.”
