Lexmark has been reported to reconfirm its commitment to the Indian market, marking the occasion with the Indian branch of Lexmark and others of the global Lexmark team together launching two new A4 laser printers into the Indian channel.
As the Indian site of CRN reports, Lexmark has joined forces with Iris Global Services, an IT distributor, which is a partnership in which Iris “will be responsible for positioning the Lexmark range of printers into SMB, enterprise and government tendering opportunities.”
As part of the newly announced partnership several delegates from the global team joined with Iris launched two new A4 printers which CRN reports are priced “aggressively and looking to have a decent market share in the SMB and enterprise segments with the support of Iris partnership.”
Paul Merritt, Vice President, WW Velocity Channel sales talked to CRN confirming: “The new Lexmark is all about Empowered, Enabled and Incented. In the past, we were more focused on enterprise led partner fulfilment, but with new Chinese ownership, we have been working towards channel and distribution go to market. We started this indirect sales model last year in North America followed by Europe and now in the Asia Pacific. In North America, we have moved back 2000 direct accounts to our channel and we are building channel collaborations and tapping new markets. In India, we will exhibit our global market leadership in MPS and enterprise and will replicate the expertise and solutions in India by adding Iris on board.”
Up until now, Lexmark has been largely targeting big corporate accounts but with this new low-priced models is looking to target a new segment – SMBs, the retail sector, the education sector, government and enterprise customers.
CRN reports that as part of the new partnership high targets were set for revenue and growth.
