August 9, 2024

In his blog post he does confirm that HP is staying committed to staying in China.

A year ago, Ernest Nicolas, HP’s Chief Supply Chain Officer, shared his thoughts on the imperative to build agility and resilience in the business while staying committed to sustainability.

Since then, Nicolas says that HP have experienced the benefits of getting geographically closer to its customers, staying ahead of the growing requests from customers worldwide to provide multi-site, multi-region and multi-source production.

Nicolas’s blog post focuses on HP’s strategy for adapting and improving its global supply chain to meet customer needs more effectively. Key points include:

  • Expansion and flexibility: HP has expanded its production facilities in Thailand, Mexico, and India. This diversification aims to enhance customer experience and mitigate risks from natural or geopolitical challenges.
  • Continuous improvement culture: HP fosters a culture of continuous improvement within its supply chain teams, encouraging innovation and the sharing of best practices globally.
  • Importance of China: China remains a crucial hub for HP, known for its advanced infrastructure and manufacturing talent, setting the standard for HP’s global production.
  • Future vision: HP envisions a supply chain characterized by interconnected ecosystems driven by collaboration, innovation, and a relentless focus on improvement. The company aims to remain resilient and adaptable to meet both current demands and future challenges.
  • Commitment to innovation: HP is committed to staying fluid and leveraging innovation across its global network to protect customers from potential disruptions.

Nicolas expresses confidence in HP’s ability to shape the future of its business through these strategic efforts.
