HP looks to outsource parts of printer production

In a recent report by Digitimes, the OEM is looking to move some of its printer production in China to Foxconn.

Digitimes reported that industry sources told the news outlet that HP is planning to move its laser printer production from its Weihai, China base. The report says that production will be undertaken by Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai) from the fourth quarter in 2022.

Detailing part of the deal, Digitimes wrote: “HP will continue to manage its Weihai production base and provide technical support for Foxconn, the sources said.”

Established in Taiwan in 1974, Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) is the world’s largest electronics manufacturer. Foxconn is also the leading technological solution provider and it continuously leverages its expertise in software and hardware to integrate its unique manufacturing systems with emerging technologies.
