How to grow a green business
December 19, 2018
In this troubled 21st century, hounded by pressing environmental issues such as the growing plastic pandemic, businesses opting to go green will have a positive impact on both the environment and your corporate reputation. Here’s how to go about it.
As Sustainable Business Forum explains, there are a number of key ways in which to develop your eco-friendly business.
Among them is the generation of a “greener company culture”, which you can promote through ensuring “that everybody involved in your business is aware of your vision.” Create green goals – making them more appealing by celebrating their achievement – calculate the savings you are making by going green, and ask your employees for helpful tips or suggestions on how you can improve your eco-friendly practices.
One of these practices should involve switching to green products, such as LED bulbs, which “use less energy and don’t contain toxic gases”; they also last much longer than other light bulbs. You should also invest in eco-friendly cleaning products are “which tend to be more concentrated”, helping you cut down on costs while simultaneously boosting the health of your staff – and the planet.
You should also make sure you implement a recycling policy for things like paper, glass and ink cartridges, and when you need new products, why not purchase recycled ones? You could even opt for used furniture for your office!
Last but not least, as your company gets greener why not look out for green partners and green vendors to do business with, as this will have “twice the impact” of just going green yourself. Doing so “will have a huge impact on the world.”
