Greentec, in partnership with Makhos Inc. announced the donation of 100 refurbished laptops, tablets, and phones to Kikendaasogamig Elementary School, university students, and the Salvation Army Trades Start Programme
The company said that this contribution will significantly expand learning opportunities for students and educators in the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
This donation is part of a broader, ongoing initiative between Greentec and Makhos Inc. to bridge technology gaps in Indigenous communities across Canada. By providing reliable, refurbished equipment, both organisations are helping to support long-term educational and economic growth while advancing their shared commitment to environmental sustainability.
“This donation reflects what Greentec stands for: creating opportunities, supporting communities, and protecting our planet,” said Tony Perrotta, CEO at Greentec. “We are proud to partner with Makhos to empower the next generation of leaders.”
“As I work toward becoming a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), having reliable technology is essential. This laptop will support me in so many ways, whether it’s attending virtual classes, completing assignments, accessing research materials, or participating in clinical simulations online,” said Halle, a student in the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation community.
Despite progress, many Indigenous communities across Canada continue to face significant barriers to accessing technology. Through sustainable, community-driven partnerships, Greentec and Makhos said they remain committed to closing this digital divide, one device and one community at a time.
