Green print drives sustainability push

May 28, 2025

Ninestar accelerates low-carbon strategy with eco-friendly product gains.

Ninestar has delivered measurable sustainability improvements, according to its latest ESG report.

The company said it had reduced greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 5.93% year-on-year and boosted its use of clean energy, with photovoltaic power generation up 208% in 2024. Some 44% of total revenue now comes from “clean technology products”, including energy-efficient printers and remanufactured cartridges.

Ninestar’s printers segment, marketed under brands such as Pantum and Lexmark,  reported that all new machines are packaged with fully recyclable materials and ship with energy-saving functions enabled by default. The segment also introduced Pantum’s first self-developed A3 colour and monochrome copiers, lauded for cost efficiency and low maintenance requirements.

The report claims 100% of suppliers have signed its anti-bribery and ethical conduct declarations, and 1,328 were subject to internal or third-party ESG audits.

In 2024, Ninestar’s MSCI ESG rating rose from BBB to A, signalling improved governance and disclosure. Yet critics say that a genuine shift in culture, particularly around risk auditing and board independence, remains a work in progress.
