GM Technology introduces universal cartridge solution

The Spanish company has announced they have launched a new revolutionary process of converting specific OEM toner cartridges to universal by modifying the endcaps.
The Spanish machine and toner cartridge remanufacturer announced that following successful testing the new universal series production started on 3 January 2022.
The modification programme to adapt some cartridge endcaps of its Konica Minolta range to make them “universal” and will fit more than one machine model in the series.
At the same time the company has stopped producing the GENBC227 replacement cartridge and adapted the GENBC224 cartridge to work for Konica Minolta bizhub C224/ C227 devices and the same Develop branded machines. Despite this change, the R-OEM version remains the same, the company added.
Also discontinued are the remanufactured Ricoh TN221 toner cartridges, because its new universal version of the Ricoh TN321 toner cartridges will work for both models.
The company’s also confirmed that remanufactured GENBC454 and RTN512 cartridge will not be compatible with other models but will work for the Develop and Olivetti brands.
The remanufactured GENBC458 toner cartridges will also be discontinued to make room for the universal GENBC308 cartridge version that will work for both. The remanufactured Ricoh TN514 toner cartridge (the R-OEM version for the BHC458) will also disappear out of the company’s product range, while the remanufactured Ricoh TN324 cartridge will work for both RTN324 and RTN514 models.
GM Technology said: “With this change GM Technology reduces the specific toner references and makes production, stock and logistics more effective for its operations and its partners too.
“Thanks to a reduction in the number of references used, but keeping the same price and toner fill weights, GM Technology achieves a more agile production. In turn, their customers can also benefit from this change by reducing the references of their stocks and having more universal products.”
