G&G sets recycling milestone

G&G breaks new grounds in inkjet cartridge recycling, significantly reducing environmental impact through its “Going Green” programme.
Annually, 1.3 billion inkjet cartridges are used globally, with only 30% being recycled, posing severe environmental risks due to their slow decomposition rate.
G&G’s “Going Green” programme, initiated in 2019, aims to address this issue by offering consumers a simple and eco-friendly way to recycle their cartridges. In 2022 alone, G&G remanufactured 129,805 cartridges, reusing 85% of the materials collected. The programme began in Europe and expanded to China in 2021.
“G&G has continued to update its records for the recycling program. In 2022, G&G remanufactured 129,805 empty inkjet cartridges. We were able to reuse 85% of what we collected,” said Linda Fan, Senior Vice General Manager of Ninestar Image.
This achievement reflects G&G’s dedication to its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) responsibilities, further supported by its parent company Ninestar’s Triple B (BBB) ESG rating upgrade.
Fan added, “We know recycling is becoming more important than ever. G&G’s ‘Going Green’ recycling programme lets our customers keep the cartridges out of landfills and let them live again. This also contributes to a greener and healthier planet for us.”
