G&G development never stops

April 28, 2020

Hot on the heals of HP’s global launch of the Neverstop laser printer series, G&G has launched “Never Stops” their first-to-market patented solution for the new HP Neverstop printer series.

You can’t accuse HP of being fast bringing a refillable ‘tank’ printer to the market. Just a year after the soft launch in Asia the Neverstop range of printers have in the last few weeks reached the European and US markets. Almost days after the printers hit the western markets, G&G has launched “Never Stops” the first-to-market patented solution for the HP Neverstop printer series.

The G&G Never Stops cartridge has the same yield of 2,500 pages as the OEM and has a self-developed chip that included accurate page counting. The chip is 100% compatible with the OEM machines. The replacement cartridge utilises a G&G fine toner with uniform particle sizes.

About the HP Neverstop printers

The Neverstop Laser printer series aims to “help business professionals stay productive as they begin working from home”. HP claims it is “the world’s first cartridge-free toner tank laser printer that offers fast and clean refill experience” with a “self-reloadable toner”.

The HP Neverstop range of three printers are the 1001nw, a budget level printer with USB, Ethernet and wi-fi connectivity. On the HP UK shop site, the printer is priced at £192 / €220 / $239. Next in the range is the 1201n the mid-range printer and comes with an added 600dpi scanner/copier. The printer is priced at £208 / €238 / $258. The top of the range is the 1202nw printer which has wi-fi included and costs £217 / €249 / $270.

The toner refill kit costs £13.60 / €15.58 / $16.9 plus delivery and lasts for 2,500 pages. A dual pack is available at £24.16 / €27.68 / $30. The approximately 350 milligrams of toner in each refill should deliver 2,500 pages. Note: The actual yield varies considerably based on content of printed pages and other factors.

Every 20,000 pages you will need to replace the imaging drum at a cost of £62.49 / €71.57 / $77.66.

The true cost of printing works out at one drum unit and eight toners. That is £171.29 / €196.23/ $213, or 0.86 pence / 1 eurocent / 1¢ per page.

Editor’s Opinion: The Neverstop printer is not the most exciting printer on the market and it is light on features. The timing of the US and Europe launch coincides with the coronavirus lockdown and HP’s inkjet firmware update that locked out aftermarket consumables and just when many people now find themselves working from home where a fast and simple printing solution such as this.
