Five replacements for the HP PageWide printers

Following HP’s announcement that they are discontinuing the popular HP Pagewide range of inkjet printers, we took a look at what other brands could replace them.

Following last month’s announcement, HP confirmed they will discontinue their popular range of A3 and A4 PageWide office printers. We have taken a look at other brands that might replace the Officejet Pro series of PageWide printers we have in our office.

1. Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820DWF. 

Multifunction printer with double-sided printing and single scanning and fax all up to A4. Print speeds of up to 21ppm¹ in black and a 35 page A4 automatic document feeder (ADF). Flexible wireless connectivity solutions such and Scan-to-cloud.

2. Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4745DTWF 

This A4 multifunction printer is targeted at the more demanding home office and small office users. It offers fast double-sided (duplex) printing and single scanning and faxing all up to A4, plus its automatic document feeder can process up to 35 double-sided A4 pages. It has two A4 250-sheet front trays ensures there is a high capacity of paper.

3. Epson EcoTank L6490 

Another A4 multifunction inkjet printer from Epson targeted at home offices and small businesses. This A4 printer with fax delivers an ultra-low-cost per page and ultra-fast print speeds with the first page out in just over seven seconds. Paper handling is from a 250-sheet front paper tray and a 35-page automatic document feeder. The printer is accessed and managed via a 6.1cm LCD touchscreen.

4. Brother HL-J6000DW Colour Wireless A3 Inkjet Printer 

Brother offers the HL-J6000DW colour wireless inkjet printer with A4 and A3 printing with a fast first printout time of under 6 seconds in the business inkjet segment. Paper handling of up to 500 sheets, a 100 sheet multi-purpose tray and auto low-paper detection. The printer is accessed and managed via a 6.8cm colour touchscreen.

Update – 16.08.2021: HP has asked us to clarify that “Our family of printers that are branded ‘PageWide’ are getting discontinued. OJP[Officejey Pro] is unaffected.”    We have amended to story title and standfirst accordingly.
