EU and China pledge deeper cooperation to foster a sustainable circular economy, boosting global green efforts.
The European Union and China have pledged to enhance cooperation on the circular economy, aiming to promote resource efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable production. The recently announced agreement marks a significant step in addressing environmental challenges globally.
“The transition to the circular economy is a global challenge and requires major shifts in all countries around the world. With this roadmap we are continuing our fruitful collaboration with China to advance the circular economy and create new opportunities for more sustainable production and consumption.
“Closer and continuous engagement with China is key to achieving not only our circular economy but also other shared environmental ambitions.” Said the European Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, Virginijus Sinkevi?ius.
The agreement also underscores the need to advance circular economy goals in areas such as product design and waste management.
