ETIRA appoints Javier Martinez as President

At the recent General Assembly, ETIRA members appointed Javier Martinez as President for the coming year and confirmed the new board of Gerwald (Armor Group) as Vice President and the following board members: Jan-Michael Sieg (KMP AG), David Connett (The Recycler), Milan Banjac (TIN Group), Peter Knak (IMEX) and Volker Kappius (Delacamp).
Newly elected President Martinez thanked Christian Wernhart and Jorgen Wonisch who stepped down as Board Members.
Vincent van Dijk, the ETIRA Secretary General reported to the meeting that the membership had increased ten percent over the last year and brought the members up to date with a review of the previous years work programme and the current state of play with ETIRA’s social media engagement and the EU lobbying programme.
ETIRA members discussed the new strategy of the association and endorsed ETIRA’s communications and outreach programme and also agreed to establish several working groups to address selected topics.
Members also got to see first-hand the new Reuse promotional video (https://vimeo.com/343916705) that promotes reuse as a better option than continually using new single use cartridges as well as the plans for two more videos on the topic of reduce and recycling that will be launched this autumn.
Following the General Assembly the new board met briefly to discuss the meeting and work programme for the next year and issues raised by the membership.
