Epson to downsize workforce

The company’s CEO announced in an interview plans to restructure its international operations to reduce costs.
Epson’s Chief Executive Officer, Yasunori Ogawa was interviewed by Kyodo News in which he outlined plans for the company to shut its semiconductor production hub in Singapore by end of 2027. Ogawa also revealed plans to relocate some of the operations to Myanmar and Indonesia.
Bloomberg reported that Epson is not intending to cut jobs in Japan but that it is not clear how many will be cut overseas.
