Epson sues RJ International Group, Inc.

Epson alleges that the RJ International Group’s aftermarket ink cartridges for use with Epson printers infringe its 749 United States Patent.
The company filed a complaint against RJ International Group, Inc. (RJI) and Yiping Jen the company CEO and CFO. Epson alleges that the RJI aftermarket ink cartridges for use with Epson printers infringe its United States Patent No. 8,794,749 (the ‘749 patent).
eBay – The Epson complaint evidence lists several eBay listings of RJ International Group, Inc., claiming the cartridges listed are compatible with Epson devices and the labels on the products claiming, “This is an OEM product”. The products in question relate to cartridges used in some of Epson’s SureColor and Stylus Pro devices.
Epson is asking for “a preliminary and permanent injunction restraining and enjoining Defendants and their agents, servants, and employees, and all persons acting thereunder, in concert with, or on their behalf, from infringing the claims of the ‘749 patent.”
Epson is requesting a trial by jury.
