Epson now offers its EcoTank printers as a complete subscription in Germany and Austria.
Customers can now lease various EcoTank models without incurring the additional costs of purchasing a printer. With ReadyPrint Max, they receive the device, ink, and any necessary service starting at €6.99 ($7.93) per month.
Epson said it is the first manufacturer to offer this type of complete subscription to private customers in the German market, thus making both the ink and the printer available as part of a subscription without an additional activation fee.
The ReadyPrint Max subscription is currently available for six EcoTank models, from the entry-level ET-2870U to the A3 ET-16650U, with various page packages (from 50 to 3,000 pages). Prices vary depending on the printer model and page package and start at €6.99 ($7.93) per month going up to €54.99 ($62.39) per month. The monthly fee includes delivery, ink, service, and return shipping.
The minimum contract term is two years. ReadyPrint Max is available in Germany and Austria.
“With our new ReadyPrint Max subscription model, we offer an ‘Epson all-round worry-free package.’ There’s no investment required to purchase a device, and the ink is delivered free of charge when needed. Should service become necessary, we’ll take care of that too,” said Niklas Wauschkuhn, Head of Sales Home and Office Print, about the concept. “With this leasing concept, we complement our existing offering and combine the best possible flexibility in printing with Epson print quality and the advantages of EcoTanks.”
Instead of cartridges, Epson EcoTank printers use high-capacity ink tanks that are refilled from ink bottles.
Since the EcoTanks were introduced in 2014, more than 100 million units have been sold worldwide.
