Epson announces changes in executive personnel

Seiko Epson Corporation (Epson) announced that a meeting of its board of directors had approved executive officer changes effective 1 April 2023.
At the same time the board of directors provisionally approved changes to its board of directors that are subject to final approval at the company’s annual general meeting scheduled to be held on 27 June 2023.
Epson said: “As we seek to achieve our Epson 25 Renewed Corporate Vision, we have implemented these changes with the aims of further strengthening our corporate governance, and of accelerating our efforts to create a strong organisation capable of generating ongoing improvements in corporate value and growth.”
Set to retire as of 31 March are Hideki Shimada, Yoshiyuki Moriyama and Tsuyoshi Kitahara who are executive officers. Changes of responsibility will be seen from 1 April for Tatsuaki Seki, currently Director, Senior Managing Executive Officer, who will be the new Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer and Koichi Kubota, currently Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, whose new role will be Director.
Newly appointed as Executive Officers were Masashi Hayashi, Masaharu Mizukami, Toshihiko Kobayashi and Siew Jin Kiat.
Further changes effective 27 June include the retirement of Hideaki Omiya and Koichi Kubota and the new appointments of Tadashi Shimamotoi and Masaki Yamauchi as Outside Directors.
