Epson and Canon support Taiwan earthquake relief

Both companies have announced their support relief effort following the Taiwan earthquake that occurred on 3 April.
On 3 April 2024, a large-scale earthquake struck the eastern region of Taiwan, causing extensive damage and loss of life.
Epson announced it would donate ¥5 million ($32,374/ €30,330) to the Japanese Red Cross Society to assist the people and region affected by the disaster. Local sales company Epson Taiwan Technology & Trading Ltd., is offering to repair Epson printers and projectors damaged in the earthquake at special rates. The company added: “Everyone at Epson is saddened by the tragic loss of life and hopes for the earliest possible recovery of the affected region.”
Canon said: “We at Canon would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to all those affected by this disaster and our thoughts go out to those suffering in its aftermath. We also sincerely pray that further damage will be constrained as much as possible and that the region will soon be able to begin the rebuilding and healing process.”
To aid in the relief efforts for the earthquake victims, the Canon Group is making a donation of NT$3 million (approximately $93,000/ €87,000) to the Hualien County government.
