ECI’s CFO honoured with gold award
November 4, 2020
ECI Software Solutions announced that Women World Awards has named CFO Sarah Hagan a Gold winner in the 13th Annual 2020 Women in Business and the Professions World Awards.
The coveted annual Women World Awards programme encompasses the world’s best in leadership, innovation, organisational performance, new products and services and milestones from every major industry in the world. Organisations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, largest to smallest and new start-ups – are eligible to submit nominations. Judges from a broad spectrum of industries determined the 2020 award winners.
Sarah Hagan was recognised for disrupting the traditional CFO model and reinventing ECI’s enterprise-wide accounting system. In just a matter of months after being named CFO in 2018, Sarah helped transition ECI into the software powerhouse that it is today by aiding in 10+ acquisitions and growing revenue by +20% year-over-year, ECI explained. She also built a stronger relationship between the business and finance departments internally by implementing an entirely new accounting system to promote more effective collaboration and organization.
Understanding that finance is traditionally male-dominated – according to S&P Global, male CFOs outnumber female 6.5 to 1 – Sarah makes it a point to offer insight and mentorship to women who are looking to make a name for themselves in the field. Sometimes the role of CFO is all about the numbers and not the people behind them, but Sarah puts an end to that stereotype by playing an active role in ensuring ECI’s business processes and culture are much more effective and successful—keeping employees and customers top of mind. Typically, CFOs are not expected to have a hand in garnering positive end-customer experiences. However, Sarah has gone above and beyond her roles and responsibilities by taking into account the processes to make ECI’s customers happier.
“As the role of CFO is historically known to be all about crunching numbers and not the people behind them, I prefer to play an active role in ensuring business processes and culture are much more effective and successful,” said Hagan. “This notion of keeping employees and customers top of mind is something we at ECI are passionate about, which is why I am honoured to be recognised by Women World Awards for my work to incorporate that concept in all that I do.”
