ECi acquires Vineyardsoft
September 7, 2018
ECi Software Solutions has announced it has acquired Vineyardsoft Corporation, which specialises in Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) software.
Vineyardsoft’s flagship solution, KnowledgeSync, is one of the most widely used alerts and workflow solutions on the market today, providing what ECi describes as “unparalleled insight into critical business events in real-time.”
ECi says it welcomes all Vineyardsoft employees to the company; they will report to ECi’s Manufacturing Division President, Jeff Ralyea.
Founded in 1999, Vineyardsoft has more than 150 reseller and Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) customers that have implemented KnowledgeSync in over 10,000 organisations worldwide. Among those is ECi, which explained that it has has had a well-established and successful relationship with Vineyardsoft since 2014. KnowledgeSync is used across products in ECi’s Manufacturing and Field Service Divisions.
ECi says, “This acquisition will allow ECi to more easily extend the benefits of KnowledgeSync to its broader customer base, as well as put more resources behind advancing future generations of the product. To that end, ECi values the company’s extensive, successful network of OEM and reseller partners and will continue to fully support their efforts to sell, deploy and service KnowledgeSync as Vineyardsoft has always done.”
“Vineyardsoft is a tremendous addition to the ECi portfolio of companies,” said Ron Books, CEO of ECi. “We strive to always find new and innovative ways to help our customers compete in the marketplace so they can profitably grow their businesses. A solution like KnowledgeSync provides that competitive edge by giving busy business leaders a single technology from which to monitor and respond to important business conditions across all front-office and back-office software solutions.”
KnowledgeSync combines business intelligence, alerts and workflow to help businesses monitor key activities across the organisation. Through alerts and warnings, business leaders and staff can easily identify conditions that require attention—such as leads that need follow up, stock items that require re-order and invoices that are overdue for payment. KnowledgeSync Version 10, which is set to be released in the coming months, will feature the most significant updates to the product since its introduction, including making the product accessible in the cloud.
“Vineyardsoft has had great success ever since joining forces with ECi, making the company an ideal one to help take our capabilities to the next level,” said Don Farber, Co-founder and Vice President of Sales at Vineyardsoft Corporation. “The additional resources that ECi brings to our clients and partners further enhance our leadership role in Business Activity Monitoring and put those customers, partners and our employees in great hands moving forward. It is an all-around win for Vineyardsoft to join the ECi family.”
The deal was sealed between the two companies on 1 September 2018 and terms were not disclosed.
