Despec Nordic acquired by Systeam
June 6, 2018
The Ebensfelden-based company has expanded into Scandinavia, with the acquisition of printer and supplies distributor, Despec Nordic.
Through this acquisition, which was made official with the signing of a contract on 4 June, Systeam has “extended its scope of action for the DACH region to the markets of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland” as CRN reports.
“We are confident that we will benefit from the merger and look forward to a future together with Despec. Not only was there a local presence important to us, but also a strong market position. With Despec Nordic, we have found one of the three largest printer and supplies distributors in Scandinavia,” explains Systeam CEO Michael Mitlacher.
Despec Nordic was originally part of Despec Supplies, but broke away in 2006.
Systeam has already “expanded through start-ups in 2004 and 2011 to Switzerland and Austria”, currently employing 180 people.
Michael Voll, the CEO of Despec Nordic, will remain in his management position after the acquisition.
“Despec has a strong new owner. There will be no change for the business partners of Despec and the Systeam regarding existing contractual relationships,” he said, adding, “We expect that we share our product portfolio and our know-how and that this also has a positive effect on our customers.”
