David Connett starts G&G challenge
May 31, 2019
David Connett, Creative Partner at Connett & Unland GbR and former Editor of The Recycler has officially started the G&G challenge walking the West Highland Way in Scotland for charity.
For the walk, Connett, a veteran, has joined a team of fellow veterans to make the demanding trek from Milngavie to Fort William, beyond the foothills of Ben Nevis, between 31 May and 5 June. Although the West Highland Way is generally walked in 7-8 days, Connett and his companions are upping the challenge by attempting to complete it in just 5! They will also be camping at 4 different locations along the way.
Supported by G&G, Ninestar’s premium global brand specialising in standard consumables and professional printing solutions, David will be raising money for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières.
G&G commented on the walk: “G&G is pleased to support David and his “crazy” idea, walking Scotland’s 154-kilometre West Highland Way to raise well-needed funds for others.
We discovered a fun fact about David, as an engineer the (polite) nickname for a group of engineers was “Penguins” who have true grit and courage, a precious trait we see in David, and something that inspired us here at G&G where the King Penguins are the G&G’s brand image ambassador.
Everyone at G&G wishes David good luck and a pleasant journey.”
David said: “I didn’t want to turn 65 without a challenge or two to look forward to and G&G have given me this amazing challenge discovering Scotland’s spectacular landscape along the West Highland Way is indeed a challenge, but to do it in the company of an erstwhile group of veterans and raising money for such a fantastic cause will be even more fulfilling. Every penny counts so please give what you can.”
