Datamax supports reforestation mission
February 28, 2022
Datamax once again partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation in their 50th year to support their reforestation mission and reinforce their “power of trees” message.
In the last 50 years, the Arbor Day Foundation has planted and distributed nearly 500 million trees in more than 50 countries around the world. To date, Datamax has helped plant more than 8,600 trees in nationwide forests. This year’s tally of 1,364 trees planted is the most Datamax has contributed in any year since 2011.
“In the grand scheme, Datamax donations represent a very small fraction of what is necessary to ensure growth in our all-important forests. As a technology provider that utilises and promotes the use of tree paper products, Datamax has a most certain responsibility to give green back,” Datamax Texas President David Rhodes said. “The Arbor Day Foundation is a wonderful nonprofit conservation and education organisation and our hope is for the ‘multiplier effect’ where more and more companies are inspired to help them plant, nurture and celebrate trees.”
Currently, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Arbor Day is striving to replant Michigan’s state lands on a large scale. These forests were heavily logged in the late 1800s, and state wide conservation efforts have been focused on bringing public lands back to their natural state. This project will replant native stands of Jack Pine and Red Pine, with a small percentage of white spruce and eastern white pine also incorporated. In total, nearly six million trees are being planted through partnerships with companies like Datamax.
Along with other partners across the globe, the Arbor Day Foundation is working to improve the quality of life around the world through the simplest, most affordable, and most effective solution – planting trees – which will pave way for the health and well-being of people in this generation and future generations to come.
