Datamax Inc. makes new acquisition
January 12, 2018
The company has announced the acquisition of East Texas Copy Systems, a business technology provider based in Tyler, Texas.
Datamax revealed that it “is pleased to announce” the acquisition of East Texas Copy Systems, a privately-owned business technology provider headquartered in Tyler, TX. This agreement is described as another step in Datamax’s growth strategy to further expand and strengthen its marketplace presence within Texas and Arkansas.
For more than 70 years, East Texas Copy Systems has “demonstrated an undeniable track record of staying ahead of the industry curve.” The company’s objective for the businesses and organisations it serves is to develop and deploy emerging technology solutions that “empower optimum efficiency and enhance marketplace advantage.”
Datamax has revealed that the “alignment of go-to-market philosophies and company objectives” between itself and East Texas Copy Systems makes this acquisition a benefit for all parties concerned, in particular for its “valued customers.”
“Rick Fedell (Vice President) and I are beyond thrilled to share what will be the beginning of a new era at East Texas Copy Systems within the Datamax family,” East Texas Copy Systems President Greg Walker said. “Although we will have a new name and new ownership, our customers can expect business as usual. They can also anticipate an enhanced commitment and capability through the expanded resources of Datamax. In our mind, the fit between our organizations is not just a good one; it’s a perfect one.”
Datamax and East Texas Copy Systems’ team of experienced professionals will strategically work together to deliver “relevant technology solutions in a manner that promotes collaborative partnership and propels organizational productivity.” The newly expanded organisation will continue to offer a complimentary array of multifunction copiers and printers, desktop printers, wide-format printers and digital production equipment. Coupled with document management/workflow solutions, managed print services, managed network services, and IT consulting services, the ability to address “holistically” a broader spectrum of business technology challenges can now be realised, according to Datamax.
In addition, the company said it feels that, ultimately, customers will “enjoy the freedom to focus on their forte – managing their business, not their technology.”
“Although business alignment is a major factor in such an acquisition, what we’re equally excited about is our cultural alignment. We believe culture trumps all. At Datamax, we aren’t satisfied with customers or employees just being satisfied. Our mission is much bigger. We set the bar very high regarding the experiences of our customers, as well as the aspirations of our employees and the needs of our communities. Unless we’re Creating Raving Fans® of each of them, our job is simply not done. The East Texas Copy Systems customer and employee commitment level is clearly the same, which makes this a wonderful match,” says Barry Simon, President of Datamax Inc.
