DAR chapter honours Staples employees
May 15, 2018
After offering discounted surplus office supplies to local Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) chapters, employees of Staples were given certificates by way of thanks.
As The Chattanoogan reveals, the Staples employees at the franchise’s Hamilton Place branch discovered “a large quantity of overstocked supplies”, prompting a team member to get in touch with the local DAR chapters. These chapters were offered the supplies on a discounted basis, to be distributed around “some of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution supported schools”.
This action on the part of Staples offset “the financial obligations of the schools and provides both the teachers and students with needed items.”
Certificates were presented by the Judge David Campbell Chapter of DAR to “DeWayne Barker, general manager; Jack Miller, sales manager; and Susan Henderson, technical support, in appreciation of their support of the DAR schools. Susan Henderson, a member of Nancy Ward Chapter, NSDAR, accepted the certificates.”
