Parkersburg’s Copier Word Processing Supply, Inc (CWS) has just celebrated its 40th anniversary in business.

As The Parkersburg News and Sentinel reports, the business was launched by John W. Alkire Jr. on 1 January 1979, starting off by selling copier, typewriter and word processing supplies.

In the space of a year, CWS transitioned to “selling and servicing office equipment in the Parkersburg area”, and over the years the business has expanded, acquiring other offices in Charleston, Morgantown and Wheeling.

These days, CWS, which employs over 35 people, “offers a full line of Multifunctional Copier Devices, Managed I.T. Services and Managed Print Services” as well as handling Document Management and Office Workflow.

It has been awarded the National Award of Excellence three times by Ricoh, and in 2017 sold more printers than any other Ricoh dealer in the country.

“While many things have changed since 1979, our commitment has always been the same…To provide the best customer service experience in everything we do and with every product that we represent,” said John W. Alkire Jr.
