CRN celebrates Women in Channel

The shortlist for CRN’s inaugural Women in Channel (WiC) Awards has been revealed, with a selection of OEM representatives in line for glory.
The shortlisted entries will now be whittled down by a panel of twenty judges, before the winners are revealed in a ceremony in London this October.
“We were overwhelmed by both the calibre of talented women who entered, and the quality of the entries themselves,” said CRN.
In the Woman of the Year category, HP’s Natalie Pilgrim is nominated, alongside Sarah Shields of Dell. Meanwhile, Brother UK has two runners in the Rising Star – Vendor category, with Gemmer Crozier and Nicola Willis joined by VMware’s Emily Smith and Sharp Business Systems UK’s Corina Schiopu.
Epson UK’s Lucy Brackett and VMware’s Catherine Dunleavy are nominated in the Marketing Employee of the Year – Vendor bracket, whilst in the Sales Employee of the Year – Vendor category, Sharp Business Systems UK’s Holly Chambers and Katherine Harris will go head to head with VMware’s Catherine Robertson and Emily Smith, and HP’s Fay Potter.
Angela Townsend of Sharp Electronics is nominated in the Manager of the Year category, whilst Gemmer Crozier of Brother UK and Laura Damba of HP are both shortlisted for Graduate/Apprentice of the Year. Meanwhile, HP’s Filiz Bekar is up for the Outstanding Returner Award, and Dell EMC’s Breda Irish is nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year. Finally, VMware is in a shortlist of three for the Best Community Outreach Programme.
