Corporate Office Supplies goes into liquidation
October 10, 2019
Melbourne-based Corporate Office Supplies Pty Ltd went into voluntary liquidation.
In a public filing with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC), Con Kokkinos of Worrells in Melbourne has been appointed as liquidator handling the voluntary liquidation of the Australian office consumables supplier Corporate Office Supplies Pty Ltd.
The Recycler reported in March 2017 the company made headlines after the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) found that a farming couple were “bullied” into buying “enough printer ink to last 1,700 years” by Corporate Office Supplies Pty Ltd. Melbourne-based Corporate Office Supplies were ordered to pay over AU$90,000 (US$67,567/€64,013) to Rod and Charmaine Sharp after selling them over 2,000 inkjet cartridges from mid-2015 onwards.
In the same month The Recycler reported Courier Mail news story that The Australian government has refused the company funding from its job creation scheme. The company claimed that the government had “reneged” on its scheme to fund businesses that create jobs. The scheme, worth AU$100 million (US$77 million/€71 million), is to reward businesses by subsidising workers that are given full time employment for up to AU$20,000 (US$15,442/€14,307).
Corporate Office Supplies was founded in early 2010, specialising in providing printer consumables including laser toners, inkjet cartridges, fax supplies and copier supplies.
