Toshiba sharpens focus on mobile-first printing with e-BRIDGE Global Print v1.9.
Toshiba has released version 1.9 of its e-BRIDGE Global Print platform, a cloud-connected service designed to make business and guest printing faster and more flexible. The update arrives as demand for mobile-first, cloud-enabled printing continues to climb, according to research group Data Horizon.
A centrepiece of the release is ‘Guest Printing’, a feature that allows users in hotels, libraries and shared workspaces to print by scanning a QR code from their phone or cloud storage. The function can be offered as a complimentary amenity or as a paid service, giving operators new ways to monetise access.
The software also introduces device pre-registration and streamlined licence activation, allowing printers to be added instantly upon installation. Toshiba said these refinements significantly reduce deployment time for IT teams and improve the experience for staff and visitors alike.
To access the new features, Toshiba multifunction printers require an application update. Subscribers to the company’s Elevate Sky services can manage upgrades remotely across entire fleets using MFPConnect, ensuring minimal disruption.
Toshiba positioned the launch as part of its strategy to address the shift in workplace printing towards cloud-first workflows and mobile convenience. The company said version 1.9 helps organisations deliver secure, cost-effective and user-friendly printing services while maintaining operational efficiency.
