March 18, 2020
In an email to customers the Netherlands based parts supplier CiT CEO, Thijs Tuinstra confirms they have stock and are open and filling the supply chain gap.
CEO at the Netherlands based parts supplier, Thijs Tuinstra, has been reaching out to CiT customers to reassure them that CiT is open, has stock and helping to fill the gap in the supply chain.
He comments “Despite the economic situation, offices, governments, businesses still need to print. We have seen this in 2008-2009 also. Printing is “crisis proof” so to say.”
As the supply chain issues created by the coronavirus global pandemic continue. Tuinstra reports that they have current stocks of toners, carrier and developer, over 80,000 chips, copier and laser printer OPC’s, PCRs, developer rollers, adder rollers etc. as well as blades, seals, plastic parts, caps, covers, waste bottles.
CiT supports the following major brands; Brother, OKI, Xerox, Ricoh, Samsung, Dell, Epson, Canon, Kyocera, Konica Minolta, Sharp, UTAX, TA, Olivetti and a wide range of niche brands like Anytron or Sagem.
In January at Remanexpo we learned that just 35% of remanufactured cartridges sold in Europe were produced in Europe. That has changed in recent weeks as a result of the coronavirus. In a quick phone survey last week, The Recycler learned that the sales of toner, chips and OPC’s is up on the same period as last year. One vendor we spoke with suggested sales were up as much as 25%. While the overall market is flat, a spike in European produced remanufactured cartridges is down to the supply chain from Asia which has been impacted by the coronavirus.
